What Candidates Will Do
Configure LVM storage, extend volumes, and set up automated backups with proper permissions and encryption
Deploy and troubleshoot systemd services, configure logging with rsyslog/journald, and implement log rotation

Troubleshoot broken system preventing boot, diagnose failing services, and restore system to working state
Automated Grading
Verify LVM configuration and volume management, service startup and logging correctness, script functionality and automation execution, successful system recovery and service restoration
Environment
CentOS Stream 9 or Ubuntu 22.04 with additional block devices for storage tasks. Pre-install: systemd, LVM tools, rsyslog, logrotate, common sysadmin utilities. Create intentionally broken services and system issues.
